I'm thinking about using this space to showcase some of the more bizarre forms of life on Earth.
Today's critter is the harp sponge, a recently discovered carnivorous deep-sea sponge. Most sponges are filter feeders, but this one ensnares crustaceans and fish with barbed filaments that branch off from a horizontal structure, or stolon. Their feeding behavior brings to mind sundew plants
